Kenny Chesney and Jake Owen may not ever dream of performing at a theater in New York City, but now the two country music hitmakers will at least have a chance to hear their songs on stage in the Big Apple.

A new musical, 'Somewhere With You,' will debut off-Broadway at the Pershing Square Signature Center in the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre on July 8. Songwriter JT Harding wrote the musical, along with director Peter Zinn.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival describes 'Somewhere With You' as a "compellingly gritty, coming-of-age love story [that] centers around a new generation of Southerners growing up in the early 2000s, confronted by the methamphetamine epidemic, the war in Iraq, and other post-9/11 challenges in the rural South."

Harding wrote or co-wrote some of Chesney and Owen's biggest hits, including the musical title, which was a No. 1 hit for Chesney in 2011. His other credits include Owen's chart-topping single, 'Alone With You,' as well as Uncle Kracker's multi-platinum hit, 'Smile.'

'Somewhere With You' will run through July 13. Jay Thomas ('Mr. Holland's Opus,' 'Cheers') will star in the musical, along with veteran TV and Broadway star Andrew Rothenberg ('The Walking Dead,' 'Lie to Me').
