Kelsea Ballerini has been working on her sophomore album ... and she's had some company in the studio: In a recent interview, the up-and-coming country star revealed that her next record will feature a collaboration with her fiance, Morgan Evans.

When asked, by ET, if she's written any songs about Evans, Ballerini confirmed that, yes, she has -- "and he just sang on it."

"It's gonna be on the record," Ballerini adds, "and it's cheesy, and I like it."

A representative for Ballerini says that Evans sings background vocals on the song; it is not, as originally reported, a duet. As for the tune's title -- well, Ballerini isn't giving that away just yet, because it may end up being the project's title track.

"I think it's gonna end up being the album title, so I'm holding all that," the singer says. "But, yeah, it'll be there."

Ballerini and Evans got engaged on Christmas Day in 2016, a little over nine months after they first met while hosting the CMC Music Awards in Brisbane in March of that year.

"I was anti-love, [anti-]dudes, [anti-]thinking about futures before him," Ballerini admits. "I always remember people telling me, 'When you know, you know.' And I was like, 'What do you mean? That makes no sense to me.' And then, for real, within weeks, I was like, 'Whenever. Yeah, I'm in.'"

On Sunday (Feb. 12), Ballerini will be in Los Angeles for the 2017 Grammy Awards; she's nominated for Best New Artist and will also be performing during the awards ceremony ... and, by the time she gets there, the artist recently told The Boot, her sophomore album will be complete.

“When I hop on the plane to go to the Grammys, it has to be done,” Ballerini says. “I’ve been writing twice a day and doing vocals at night; it’s all I’m doing in my life right now.

“I’m so excited about it,” she continues. “I thought that I was attached to my first one, and this one is even more so; it’s, like, me in music form. I think it’s going to be a lot more bolder, a lot lighter and a whole lot darker than my first album.”

Ballerini will head out on the road in 2017 with both Thomas Rhett, on his Home Team Tour, and Lady Antebellum, on their You Look Good World Tour; a list of all of her upcoming shows is available on her website.
