It was a Merry Christmas for Kelly Clarkson last night. The singer starred in her highly-anticipated 'Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Tale,' where she was joined by several of her famous friends for a humorous and heartfelt TV special.

Clarkson, decked out in various red gowns throughout the show, performed numerous Christmas songs, in addition to showing off her acting and comedic chops. In between musical numbers, the newlywed starred in clips of her pretending to put the show together.

First, the star met with comedian Ken Jeong and actor William Shatner, where she pitched them the idea for her show. That was followed by lunch with Trisha Yearwood and Clarkson's new mother-in-law, Reba McEntire, where she threatened to share unflattering photos of them with TMZ if they didn't agree to appear in her Christmas special.

Her plan worked, and the two country music superstars joined Clarkson for an unforgettable, flawless rendition of 'Silent Night.'

Clarkson asked good friend Blake Shelton to hem and iron her clothes, while her assistant tried to convince her to let him appear on the show. When the assistant failed to get movie star George Clooney to make an appearance, the assistant was fired. Clarkson then approached Robin Williams, Natalie Cole, Whoopi Goldberg, Heidi Klum and Danica Patrick, asking them to appear, with each of them suggesting Shelton instead.

Unhappy with their suggestions, Clarkson went for a walk, where she found her assistant outside, begging for money. Discovering a shelter, the songstress sang a perfect rendition of 'White Christmas.' When Clooney was finally reached by phone, Clarkson opted not to invite him on her show, and instead returned to the stage, where, claiming to have discovered the real meaning of Christmas, she was joined by several children, singing 'Underneath the Tree' with her instead.

In between her hilarious skits, the 31-year-old performed songs from her 'Wrapped in Red' Christmas album, including 'My Favorite Things,' 'Please Come Home for Christmas' and 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
