Just in time for the holiday season, Kellie Pickler has released a new single.

The new holiday track, "My Christmas Caroline," takes the singer back to her childhood, when she spent the Christmas season in North Carolina with her grandmother.

"[It's] a Christmas song that we wrote back in July," Pickler tells Rolling Stone Country. "... My grandmother raised me and was the one I called 'Mom.' It's a sweet Christmas ballad about Christmas with her growing up."

The song, which Pickler co-wrote with her husband Kyle Jacobs, takes listeners on a tour of the singer's holiday celebrations growing up, from the snow-covered pines and nearby mountains to her time spent listening to her grandfather's stories, which she playfully refers to as his "old lies."

Pickler and Jacobs are the subject of the new reality TV show I Love Kellie Pickler, which premiered in early November. "My Christmas Caroline" is available for download via iTunes and Amazon.
