Keith Urban has weighed in publicly for the first time since an alleged rape took place at his concert in Massachusetts last weekend.

According to police, 18-year-old Sean Murphy is accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl at Urban's concert at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Mass. on Saturday (July 26). Murphy has pleaded innocent to the charges, saying that the sexual encounter was consensual.

Urban posted the following message to his official website Thursday (July 31):

“My team and I were horrified to learn of the events reported in Boston this past weekend and our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected. This type of behavior stands in stark contrast to the spirit of our shows.” – Keith

Investigators say both Murphy and the 17-year-old girl were drinking at the concert, which also resulted in 46 people being treated for alcohol-related illnesses. 22 concertgoers were transported to local hospitals, and more than 50 people were taken into police protective custody at the show.
