"Psyched to play tomorrow night on #Idol... I hope Randy and the girls put me through!!!" Keith Urban posted on Twitter yesterday, making a huge announcement about tonight's (March 28) show.

The country superstar will perform solo tonight, but he says he would love to perform with his fellow judges someday. Apparently Keith, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey have been asked in interviews if they would share the stage on the show, but only one was enthusiastic about it.

"When they asked us, I threw my hands up in the air and said, 'I'm for it. Let's go!'" Keith recalls. "I was met with arousing silence, so I figured I was the only guy who wanted to do it."

Keith says he's even tried to convince Randy to "put a little band together." But until he persuades his "Idol" table mates how much fun it would be to collaborate, he will have to be content with performing by himself tonight. As for what song he'll sing, that's a well-kept secret.

Keith's "Idol" performance is a tease for his upcoming tour, which begins after a new "American Idol" is crowned. The tour kicks off July 18 in Cincinnati, Ohio, with Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch also along for the ride. While Keith is working his TV gig, there is a whole team keeping it together for him behind the scenes.

"I have an extraordinary team around me because it really does take a village. I'm certainly not doing everything on my own. I have tremendous thanks for all the help I have to make all of this happen. And I have an extraordinary wife in Nic, who's an amazing mother. She just does a beautiful job of helping keep it all in balance.

"It's a huge honor that I get to do all of it. That includes being a husband and a father," continues the charismatic entertainer, dad to two precious little girls and husband to movie icon Nicole Kidman. "I feel immensely grateful that I get to do all of these things. I think like a lot of the times it looks exponentially more -- it just looks like more from the outside. The way it actually works from day to day is navigated a lot more peacefully than I think it would probably appear on the outside."

"American Idol" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 PM ET on FOX.
