Katie Armiger Has Just Three Words for Martina McBride

Landing 'Kiss Me Now,' her first single on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, was a thrill for Katie Armiger, but nothing compares to when she met fellow country singer Martina McBride -- and was rendered speechless.

"She's my biggest idol ever," Katie tells The Boot. "I got to go into her trailer and she said, 'Hey! Great meeting you, Katie!' I had no words except, 'I love you. I love you. I love you.' I'm not normally stuck for words."

Luckily, Katie has regained her speaking faculties. "I've seen [Martina] a couple of times since then and I've been able to speak."

Even more importantly, Katie needs her vocal ability as she wraps up recording her third album. The set was originally supposed to be out this spring, but Katie has been so busy promoting 'Kiss Me Now' at radio and touring with the likes of Jason Aldean, Craig Morgan and Luke Bryan, that studio time took a back seat.

"We're going to finish it these next two months," she says. Her collaborators on the project include top Nashville songwriters Victoria Shaw and Gary Burr, noted guitar slinger Charlie Sexton and fellow artist Sarah Buxton.
