Season 12 'American Idol' runner-up Kree Harrison, who is wrapping up her run on the 'Idol' tour over the weekend, can now focus solely on her debut album. The new record, she hints, might even include a few surprises.

“Well, there will probably be some featured rappers on my record. I'm just kidding,” she jokes with Nashville's Tennessean. “I just want to stay true to my country roots, but that being said, I'm not going to put myself in a box before I'm even in the studio. It's just going to sound like me, which hopefully the fans will see as consistent.”

The 23-year-old is undoubtedly getting tips from her best friend, Kacey Musgraves, whose debut album, 'Same Trailer Different Park,' was released earlier this year. The two spend much of their free time together, but Harrison refuses to disclose whether Musgraves will join her on her new record.

“People keep asking, but I'm not saying anything,” Harrison says. “If anything happens, I want it to be a surprise. It's going to be no surprise anyway, because we're always together."

Harrison did recently reveal one previously undisclosed fact -- why the two singers call each other "has-beens." The term was started by her father (who passed away in 2001), when he was commenting on Harrison's aunt and her friend after they returned home from a night on the town.

“It was the day after New Year’s Eve,” Harrison laughingly recalls to Taste of Country, “and he said, ‘Man, y’all left the house yesterday looking like a bunch of movie stars, and came back this morning looking like a bunch of has-beens."

She adds, “So me and Kacey, and our friend Elice, we claim to be the next generation of ‘has-beens. And we just say some ridiculous things, like, ‘About to Bes,’ or ‘Never Weres.’ It’s funny. But yeah, it has been an inside joke.”

Chances are, Harrison won't have much time to spend with Musgraves once the 'Idol' tour wraps, since she plans on writing and recording for her freshman CD.  "I’m gonna work my butt off, still," she tells The Boot. "There’ll be no time off. I think probably the most relaxing thing in the world, the most amazing feeling is being in the studio, and kind of releasing everything, writing a song. So that will be my down time. Making music."

Harrison's debut single, 'All Cried Out' was released in May. Download the single here.
