Kacey Musgraves filmed her episode of 'CMT Crossroads' with good friend Katy Perry over the weekend, but eager fans will have to wait a couple of months to see the episode on TV.

The two singers met in Los Angeles on April 18 to tape the 50th episode of the show, which pairs country artists with well-known stars from other genres. Musgraves and Perry sang some of their biggest hits together, including Perry's 'Roar,' 'Fireworks' and 'Teenage Dream,' along with Musgraves' 'Follow Your Arrow.'

“I’ve been such a huge fan of Katy and her vision since I found out about her,” Musgraves explains. ”And since she’s found out about me she’s been an amazing light and friend to me ... In some ways we’re on opposite ends of the spectrum, but in a lot of ways our music makes total sense together. Her songs, while having grit, are so fun and it’ll be a cool challenge to throw a little country on ‘em.”

Perry acknowledges the adoration is mutual.

“From the moment I heard ‘Merry Go Round’ by Kacey Musgraves, I knew we were cut from the same songwriter’s cloth,” she adds. “I have been a fan and a friend of hers from the beginning, always championing her prolific songs every opportunity I get. To me, Kacey Musgraves is an artist that should be a household name because she offers a unique perspective with her writing style. It’s going to be a blast to play on each other’s songs this ‘Crossroads.’”

The rock star clearly has a soft spot for the 'Keep It To Yourself' singer. She invited Musgraves to join her for part of her Prismatic World Tour. Musgraves' leg of the tour will kick off Aug. 10 in Grand Rapids, Mich. See a list of all of her upcoming shows here.

The 'CMT Crossroads' with Musgraves and Perry will premiere on June 13 at 10PM ET. Broadcast dates for several other stations -- including VH1, MTV, MTV Hits and Palladia -- will be announced shortly.
