Kacey Musgraves' new "Biscuits" lyric video is every bit as quirky, likeable, fun and addictive as the singer herself.

Styled in sweet pastels, the lyric video appears to be crafted completely out of paper. Words, tiny houses, cannonballs, daisies and more drift in and out of view, illustrating the metaphor-filled song in a slightly homemade, yet totally perfect, clip.

The "Biscuits" lyric video has a big dose of whimsy thanks to the paper cutouts, but the imagery doesn't take away from the message of the song, which Musgraves dropped in mid-March. The song's chorus urges listeners in a laid-back way to “Just hoe your own row and raise your own babies / Smoke your own smoke and grow your own daisies / Mend your own fences and own your own crazy / Mind your own biscuits, and life will be gravy.” (There are, of course, paper-crafted biscuits and gravy in the video -- and they look good enough to eat.)

“I think it’s the perfect preview to the record we had SO much fun making,” Musgraves says of the tune. “The sound of this song represents so many of the things I love about country music. And be warned — it may inspire a square dance.”

"Biscuits," chock-full of Musgraves' sly puns, was written by Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark. As Musgraves recalls, “[McAnally] said, ‘Mind your own biscuits,’ and [Clark] said, ‘And life will be gravy.’ And I was like, ‘I quit. Bye. Brandy, get out. You’re too good.'"

Musgraves' highly anticipated sophomore recordPageant Material, is set to debut on June 23.
