Kacey Musgraves won the award for Best Country Song at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

The show on Sunday night (Jan. 26) included a tough field of contenders for the honor, which goes to the songwriters. Nominated songs included 'Begin Again' by Taylor Swift, Lee Brice's 'I Drive Your Truck,' Miranda Lambert's 'Mama's Broken Heart'  and 'Mine Would Be You,' recorded by Blake Shelton.

Musgraves won for her debut single, 'Merry Go 'Round,' which she wrote with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne.

“Oh my goodness, this is crazy!” Musgraves exclaimed, adding, “The fact that this song was chosen as the best … just blows my mind.”

The success of the song helped her first major label album, 'Same Trailer Different Park,' debut at No. 1.

“This song has changed my life,” she noted, adding that she and her co-writers tapped in to something really special."
