Josh Turner's "Time Is Love" single was the No. 1 country song of 2012, and while the singer-songwriter is thrilled with the accolade, he's not at all surprised. The tune, he says, has a message that is applicable to everyone, regardless of their current situation.

"Basically that message is leaning your priorities towards those people or that person that you love and actually spending quantity time with that person," he explains to CBS Local. "You hear about quality time a lot but I really think that quantity time with a person is really what strengthens a relationship. That's when you really get to know somebody. You get to know their strengths and their weaknesses and that brings you closer. That's what 'Time Is Love' is all about. It was a pretty easy decision on my part."

The debut single from his Punching Bag album, 'Time Is Love' is one of only three on the 12-track CD that Josh didn't write, but he was proud to include on his project. "[It's] just a great song first of all and I knew it from the first time I heard it," he explains. "It's one of those songs that just really sticks in your head."

Josh recently released "Find Me a Baby," which is the second single from Punching Bag. The 35-year-old invited his wife and all three of his boys on the new song, and was pleasantly surprised with the end result. "The kids did fine in the studio," Josh tells The Boot. "I was concerned about whether or not Marion would be able to do anything at that age ... he was born in December of 2010, and when we were in the studio it was really early after him being born. So we were just making him laugh, because we just wanted him to make any kind of good sound. We were fortunate to have Marion laughing and [three-year-old] Colby singing in that between a baby and little boy phase. And [six-year-old] Hampton and Jennifer sounded so much alike that we actually had to pan them to opposite sides to tell them apart -- it was just really eerie."

Josh, who also released the live album, Live Across America, in August will enjoy a few months at home. He will hit the road in March for a series of shows, including stops in South Carolina, Florida and Texas. See a list of his upcoming shows here.
