Josh Thompson might be busy touring with Justin Moore while promoting his upcoming 'Turn It Up' album, but he took time out of his schedule for a cause near to his heart.

The singer performed last week for Musicians on Call, a non-profit that brings both live and recorded music to hospital patients, to help in their healing process. Thompson visited the Nashville campus of the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, as part of their weekly Bedside Performance Program.

The Wisconsin native -- who performed several of his hits, including his current single, 'Cold Beer With Your Name on It' -- says the trip was especially important to him, since his own father is a military veteran.

Thompson wasn't the only famous face who performed in Nashville for Musicians on Call. Rock band Imagine Dragons, who were in Music City as part of their Into the Night Tour, hosted an exclusive listening party for patients and their families at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Other country artists who have performed for Musicians on Call include Kelly Clarkson, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Brooks & Dunn, Kellie Pickler and Trace Adkins.
