John Fogerty, ‘Wrote a Song for Everyone’ Album Preview: Hear Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert’s Collaborations

Previews of the collaborations on John Fogerty's upcoming Wrote a Song for Everyone album -- which includes 16 guests -- are starting to trickle out. This week, videos featuring duets with Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert were posted by the Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman. (Watch below.)

"So I get a call from John Fogerty, which is pretty cool unto itself, and he said he was doing this record of some of his older songs and he wanted to do a song with me. It was a huge honor," Keith says in a clip, before elaborating on their "Almost Saturday Night" pairing. "It's an obscure song of his, which I knew, and I thought, 'This is going to be fantastic.' We got in the studio with his band, jammed and had fun with it. I had the best time doing this song. There's nothing like being in the studio with the headphones on and hearing John's voice come through ... that was a real magical moment for me."

Miranda was also moved by working with one of her earliest musical influences. The songstress, who often covers CCR songs in her live shows, jumped at the chance to sing on the project's title track, which also features Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello.

"[John Fogerty is] rock royalty," Miranda says. "I'm obviously nervous walking in (the studio with him), but he's so sweet and quirky and his kids were there, his wife. It's hard to feel like being normal, but then you get in the groove of it. He's a normal guy ... but not really, he's a rock star. [laughs] I had to convince myself to calm down."

Keith and Miranda are not the only country stars featured on the 14-song project. Brad Paisley appears on "Hot Rod Heart," Zac Brown Band can be heard on "Bad Moon Rising" and Alan Jackson tackles "Have You Ever Seen the Rain." Wrote a Song for Everyone is out May 28.
