Joe Nichols and his wife, Heather, are expecting another girl!

The singer, who is already a proud dad to 15-year-old daughter Ashelyn (from a previous relationship) and two-year-old Dylan, says they are thrilled with the new addition to their family.

“We got some great images on the sonogram last week and it’s so reassuring to see that." Nichols tells People magazine. "We are incredibly fortunate to have Dylan, and now to be expecting our second so soon, we are thankful and so happy Dylan will have a little sister to grow up with.”

Their expanding family is that much sweeter because of the pain the family has already endured. Nichols' wife suffered five miscarriages before finally giving birth to Dylan in 2012.

“It’s like my body was allergic to babies, really,” she explains. “Every time I would get pregnant, it would immediately start fighting the pregnancy. Through various different ways, my body will do that. My body would treat the baby as if it was a cold or a virus.”

Thankfully, the happy couple say everything seems fine with this pregnancy.

“[This baby is] a second miracle," Nichols notes. "Heather had to go through all that again -- the appointments and treatments -- but she is feeling great, getting big and the baby is moving like crazy."

The parents still have a little bit of explaining to do before Dylan becomes a big sister.

“She points to Heather’s belly and says, ‘Puppy!’” Nichols says.

The 'Yeah' singer is spending much of the year on the road, promoting his latest album, 'Crickets,' but he says nothing will keep him away from the delivery room when his new daughter is born.

“We have blocked time off from the tour on either side of the due date. I wouldn’t miss that for anything."

Nichols first announced the pregnancy in January. The new baby is due to arrive on May 20. Congratulations to the growing family!
