We saw his high-energy dancing at last week's All for the Hall benefit concert in Nashville, and now Joe Bonsall is once again reminding us he has more talents outside of music. The Oak Ridge Boys member is also an author, with one of his most personal books, "G.I. Joe & Lillie: Remembering a Life of Love and Loyalty," now being offered at Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores.

"I am honored beyond words that Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is now carrying my G.I. Joe & Lillie book," Joe shares (quote via CMTT). "Along with all of these years of singing with the Oak Ridge Boys, writing this book has been a highlight of my life and its constant success has been downright incredible," he says.

The book, which chronicles the life of his parents, Joseph Sloan Bonsall, Sr. and Lillie Maude Collins, through World War II and the remainder of their lives, is one the singer believes will resonate with Americans. "I think the reason people love this book is that so many folks from the Greatest Generation lived the same or, at least, very similar story," Joe says.

In addition to "G.I. Joe & Lillie: Remembering a Life of Love and Loyalty," Joe has also authored a four-part children's series, "The Molly Books," and a book of his own stories, "From My Perspective." The tunesmith says he looks forward to writing more books in the future.

"You just never know, but all of a sudden there it is again, there's the creative process," he tells The Boot. "It's something you hold in your hand today that wasn't there yesterday. The reason it's here today is you followed your vision, your dream, you listened."

The Oak Ridge Boys will release their latest album of gospel songs, Back Home Again, on May 22. They will spend the next several months traveling all across the country, including stops in New Jersey, Kentucky and Indiana. See their concert schedule here.

"G.I. Joe & Lillie: Remembering a Life of Love and Loyalty" can be also be purchased here.
