Jo Dee Messina to Perform at ‘Restoring Honor’

Jo Dee Messina is set to perform at an event to honor service men and women later this month at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

'Restoring Honor,' hosted by Glenn Beck, is scheduled for August 28 at 10:00 AM ET. Speakers will include former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, war hero Marcus Luttrell and musician Ted Nugent, among others. Jo Dee will perform a mini-concert at the event.

"I'm thrilled to be a part of 'Restoring Honor.' For me it's all about honoring the men and women that serve this country," says the singer. "One of the benefits of this event is to help raise funds for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. This foundation provides scholarships and counseling to the children of men and women that have made the ultimate sacrifice. My involvement in this event is my way of saying thank you."

Despite rumors to the contrary, Beck stresses that the event is not a Tea Party rally or anything political, for that matter.

"There will be absolutely no politics involved," Beck insists. "This rally will honor the troops, unite the American people under the principles of integrity and truth, and make a pledge to restore honor within ourselves and our country."
