Jimmy Fallon recently made a visit to Nashville to tape a few promotional ads for his upcoming move to 'The Tonight Show' on NBC -- but he made sure to stay away from singer John Rich.

The TV host says he had one visit to Music City a few years ago with the Big & Rich singer, which he hopes to never repeat.

"I can't even talk about what happened with John Rich," he tells Nashville's Tennessean. "I can email him and see if I have permission, but it was a night that I'll never, ever forget, ever. He took care of me."

The two men began their evening 900 miles away from where they capped off the night. "We started in New York and we hit a few bars in New York, performed on stage, and the night ended with me in Nashville at a hotel," Fallon recalls. "I don't even remember the name of the hotel. It was a bender, man. And he's a good dude. I can't hang with that dude. He's a powerful being, and an amazing man."

Since Fallon had to jet off to several other cities after his appearance in Tennessee, he said he was staying as far away from Rich as possible. "I told him I was coming down. I was like, 'Dude, I'm in Nashville for a couple of hours.' He's like, 'All right, brother, you let me know if you want to hang out.' I'm like, 'No no no! Stay home! Stay home! I gotta be good.'"

Fallon didn't hang out with Rich, but he did get to see Brad Paisley. The singer surprised Fallon while he was taping a segment at Nashville TV station WSMV. Gibson Guitars also gave Fallon his own self-tuning Les Paul model during his short visit.

Fallon is currently the host of 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.' He will replace Jay Leno as host of 'The Tonight Show' on February 17, 2014.
