At CMT's Next Women of Country event on Tuesday night (Nov. 4), both Jennifer Nettles and Brandy Clark gave the crowd a sneak peek at some new music they've been working on.

According to NashvilleGab, Nettles performed two new tunes: "Drunk in Heels" and "Unlove You," the latter of which you can hear above. The former Sugarland member co-wrote "Unlove You" with Clark.

"[The thing about the country] genre, more than any other format, is, it celebrates brokenness," Nettles told the audience before performing "Unlove You." "And it takes realness in life, and it shines light through it, and it says, 'There is beauty in all of this because it is life.'"

According to Billboard, Clark's new song is called "The Girl Next Door." In the video below, Clark reveals that the track will be the first single off of her new record, which is "coming out early next year."

"If you want the girl next door / Some Virgin Mary metaphor / Your cardboard cutout on the wall / Your paper or your Barbie doll, with perfect hair and perfect dress / I'm really just the perfect mess / And I ain't nothin' less or nothin' more," Clark sings in "The Girl Next Door," before showing off her trademark sass and wit. "So, baby, if you want the girl next door / Go next door / Go right now / Don't look back / Don't turn around / Don't call me when you get bored / Yeah, if you want the girl next door, then go next door."

Nettles and Clark teamed up to write many of the songs on Nettles' upcoming debut album with Big Machine Label Group. The singer signed with the label in August, shortly after announcing her departure from Universal Music Group, on which she released her solo album, That Girl, in 2014. She is currently on the road on her 2015 Playing With Fire Tour, which also features Clark and Ryan Kinder.
