Jennifer Nettles’ ‘Duets’ Contestants Will Have Big Voices

There's no doubt that Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles knows how to command a stage, but that doesn't mean she's not anxious about her participation on the upcoming ABC music competition show, 'Duets.' Adding to her excitement is the fact that she'll be working alongside music legend Lionel Richie, the first 'American Idol' winner Kelly Clarkson and the platinum-selling Robin Thicke.

"I am most excited by the opportunity to perform WITH the contestants," Jennifer writes on her blog. "And, selfishly, while I know the premise is for the contestants to have the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge by performing with the artists, I know that there will be so much for me to learn from my fellow artists on the show as well (and probably from the contestants too)."

The show challenges the celebrity artists to go out and find undiscovered talent by any means necessary. Then, each week, the artists will perform a duet with their contestants. The process is something that makes Jennifer "a little nervous."

"This show will be a window into part of my own creative process that I've never shared," she admits. "While writing and recording are certainly a major part of my work, it is the performance element with which most folks are familiar. How I approach performing, how I rehearse, as well as my ethos on my relationship with the stage and the audience are all elements that I imagine will be displayed in this show. That is a peek behind the curtain and, consequently, makes me a little nervous. It's new and different for me. Nonetheless, ever the pioneer woman, I like to walk myself into new and unknown territory. It's as exciting as it is nerve inspiring."

What do you need to know to get the songstress to pick you? "I'm looking for BIG voices, males and females, who can sing diverse, dynamic music," she reveals. "If you have a strong, dynamic, voice, and if you like singing all types of powerful music, you could be my guy/girl. Ladies, I know there are a ton of you out there. Guys, I need you too!!! I HAVE to find the yin to my yang. The ebony to my ivory. The Captain to my Tennille. The ... you get the point. If you enjoy performing, and know you have chops, bring it on!!!"

Be sure to include your name, age, occupation and location, as well as your phone number and email address. You'll also need two recent photos, along with a brief description of your singing ability and why you want to work with the 'Tonight' singer. Please note, you must be at least 18 years old to participate, and all submissions become property of the producer.

'Duets' will air on ABC this summer.
