Jason Aldean is currently crossing the country with his My Kinda Party tour, but on his rare nights off, you won't find him hanging out with his friends or vacationing with wife Jessica in exotic locations. The Georgia native, father to Keeley (9) and Kendyl (5), says he makes it a priority to tuck his little girls in at night every chance he gets.

"All four of us are there, and it's one of my favorite parts of the day," he tells People Country magazine (which features Jason on this month's cover). "I love the simple stuff that I didn't always get to do before all this happened."

The 35-year-old singer is, of course, referring to his rising success, which kicked into high-gear with his My Kinda Party album, which was the biggest-selling country album of 2011. But while the bona fide superstar could certainly afford to live a lavish lifestyle, he says he is perfectly content with his 5,000 square foot house, which is surprisingly void of many amenities common to most celebrities.

"I grew up most of my life in an 800-square-foot apartment," the "Take a Little Ride" singer recalls. "The first house we bought was 1500 square feet, and I thought I was in a mansion. This is all I need."

A three-time CMA Award nominee this year (including a nod for Entertainer of the Year), Jason admits purchasing their current home in 2009 was a big leap of faith. "I was nervous as hell," he recalls. "I'd just started making a little money, and I was like, 'Man, what if my career goes down the drain tomorrow and we just built this house?'"

Jason's next album, Night Train, will hit shelves Oct. 16. While he acknowledges the tough act he has to follow, he still feels just as confident about the new set of tunes as he did his last album.

"The Party album has been a career record for me to this point," he tells The Boot, "but I still feel like my career is relatively new and young, so it just gives me more incentive to try to go out and see if we can't beat it the next time. My Kinda Party did what it did just by us going in and being ourselves and recording music the way we record it. To me, it's [about the] songs. It's cliché to say, but that's what it boils down to and I feel like as long as you have great songs, everything else is going to take care of itself."

Jason's My Kinda Party tour, which also includes Luke Bryan, heads to Michigan later this week, followed by stops in Missouri and Indiana. See a list of concert dates here, and pre-order Night Train here.
