After picking up Country Song of the Year at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday night (March 29), Jason Aldean took the stage to perform his award-winning song, "Burnin' It Down."

Dressed in all black, from his boots to his cowboy hat, Aldean crooned the song while his band played on fiery platforms behind him.

"Burnin' It Down" was co-written by the Florida Georgia Line guys, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, along with Chris Tompkins and Rodney Clawson — and it was originally intended to be a hit for FGL instead.

"We were listening to it one day, and I think it was B.K. that said, ‘Hey dude, I think Jason would kill this song. We should try to give it to him, and at least let him hear it,'" Hubbard says. "And next thing we know, he’s cutting it.”

Adds Kelley, “You know when the right song gets to the right person when you hear it back like that. It sounds incredible. He crushed it.”

The platinum-certified tune had more radio adds in its first week than any other single that Aldean has released and hit the top in country sales, with over 180,000 digital sales.

The newly married Aldean is currently on the road on his 2015 Burn It Down Tour.
