Congratulations to Jaren Johnston and his wife Evyn: The couple has welcomed their first child, a son!

Jude Daniel Johnston was born on Thursday (March 30) at 1:32AM, weighing 7 pounds and 3 ounces, Jaren Johnston shared on Instagram on Saturday (April 1). The Cadillac Three's frontman first revealed that his wife was pregnant in mid-October: Johnston and his TC3 bandmates were opening for Florida Georgia Line at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena when the singer spilled the good news before playing the trio's song “White Lightning.”

“Evyn and I have been together for 15 years," Johnston said that night. "We’ve been through so much together, but nothing has ever been as exciting as expecting our first baby."

Johnston wrote “White Lightning” about his wife; the song appears on the Cadillac Three’s newest album, Bury Me in My Boots.

“I’m a very lucky fella; not many people get to be with a woman like mine,” Johnston says. “I fell fast and hard. I remember thinking it was kind of like being struck by lightning. The hair on the back of my neck stood up, and I got the shakes the first time I saw her. When I wrote “White Lightning,” I sat down and put that experience into this song the best way I could.”

Following Jude's birth, Johnston shared a sweet tribute to his wife on Instagram: "This is the bravest, toughest being I've ever come in contact with," he writes in the caption of a photo of Evyn sleeping in a hospital bed. "36 hrs all natural birth. I can't wait to hold this over the little guy's head when he starts showing his ass later in life ... Thank you for this gift baby. I love you @evynm."
