Jared Ashley's "Last Train to Memphis" introduces country music fans to the New Mexico-born, Georgia-raised crooner with an emotional bang. The tune not only showcases his smooth, country-to-the-core vocals, but also his flair for telling a story through a catchy tune.

"Every time I sit down to write a song, the process is different. I don't have a set way or method, so every song has a different story behind it," Jared tells The Boot. "I sat down to write with Nick Sturms and Jeremy McComb one day and Nick was telling us about a book he was reading called 'Last Train to Memphis' by an author named Peter Guralnick. The book really focuses on the early part of Elvis' career and the passion he had for life, his family and his music -- the stuff no one talks about anymore. I said to the other guys, 'That's our song! Let's write a song about a guy's passion for a girl and how he'll do anything to get her back. Heck, while we're at it, let's borrow his title, too!'"

Jared shares exclusively with The Boot this exclusive acoustic performance of "Last Train to Memphis."
