Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is no stranger to the country music scene. The rock star has appeared at several country music awards shows (including the recent 2014 CMA Awards) and performed a 'CMT Crossroads' with Carrie Underwood, is about to draw in even more country fans, thanks to an upcoming duet with songstress Jana Kramer.

The pair recorded the song 'Bullet' for Kramer's upcoming sophomore album.

"I heard the song and went, 'Send me the track!'" Tyler tells Rolling Stone Country of the tune, which Kramer co-wrote with Aerosmith producer Marti Frederiksen. "So she sent me the files, and I went, 'Can I sing on that?' So I sang every part she had. It's a really cool track."

Kramer says she is still amazed at how well the tune turned out.

"I'm in the studio, and they're like, 'Holy crap, we just got background vocals from Steven Tyler!'" she recalls. "I put cans on and listened and immediately started crying. I FaceTimed my parents and my brother and was like, 'Listen to this! It's Steven freakin' Tyler!'"

The rock star says performing a country song really isn't that much of a stretch for him.

"I grew up in the woods of New Hampshire ... I have more country in me than people think," Tyler explains. "Aerosmith always crossed the line, whether it was with 'Dream On' or 'Train Kept a Rollin',' or even 'Walk This Way' with Run DMC. And we sang with Carrie Underwood on our last album."

Kramer hopes 'Bullet' is her next single. The album is due out early next year.
