Jamie Lynn Spears’ ‘How Could I Want More’ Video Inducted Into Video Shootout Golden Corral
After an astonishing four-week run, Jamie Lynn Spears‘ video for her debut country single, ‘How Could I Want More,’ has been inducted into The Boot’s Video Shootout Golden Corral.
The clip debuted in the Shootout on Dec. 9, competing against Hank Williams, Jr. and LoCash Cowboys, and earning 46 % of the total vote for the win. It moved on to face clips by Gary Allan and Kacey Musgraves the next week, taking more than 55 % of the overall vote to move on to the following week, where it received a whopping 61 % of the vote, defeating clips by Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney.
Spears pulled out her fourth and final victory last week, earning nearly 50 % of the total vote to defeat clips by Luke Bryan and Jennifer Nettles. In accordance with the Video Shootout rules, the clip for ‘How Could I Want More’ will now be retired into the Golden Corral, making room for other videos to compete.
The former Disney star — whose sister is pop superstar Britney Spears — is preparing to release her debut country album, which she says is a natural progression.
“I don’t think you just wake up one morning and decide you’re going to sing. It’s something I’ve always done,” the 22-year-old explains. “But as a young child, all that was offered to me. You don’t know how to say, like, ‘Oh, this is what I want for the rest of my life.’ You can’t make those kind of decisions at 10 years old.”
She adds, “It’s seeing it all here and it’s real. It’s like, ‘Oh my goodness, I’m really gonna do this.’ It’s like my second baby.”
