Jake Owen is recovering from surgery to take care of a problem with his right hand. In a posting to Facebook on Tuesday afternoon (July 9), the singer assured fans he would not miss any scheduled shows because of the upcoming procedure.

"Headed in for surgery... I was trying to avoid it, but since I play guitar for a living I need to get this done," Owen wrote. "Btw..There's no way I'd miss the chance to play Country Concert 2013 or Fenway Park this weekend. I won't let y'all down."

On Wednesday morning he updated fans via Twitter, posting, "Surgery went well yesterday. On the mend. Currently pain pill tweeting. Might have to sit on a stool 4 shows this wk but ill be there!!"

It's unclear what the problem was with Owen's hand, but over the weekend he spent some time in the emergency room after a go kart race against NASCAR drivers Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer resulted in an accident.

Owen currently has a long string of dates booked all the way through the end of October. See his live schedule here.
