Jake Owen’s summer anthem "American Country Love Song" has given him another Top 10 hit; in fact, he's had so much fun with the song that he's releasing it to radio again, but this time, with a very special guest: the one and only Ronnie Dunn.

Although having Dunn as a guest on "American Country Love Song," from Owen's fifth full-length studio record, American Love, may seem random, the Brooks & Dunn singer has long been an inspiration to Owen.

“I was lucky enough to go on tour with Brooks & Dunn early in my career. I would sit out on the lawn of the amphitheaters and listen to their soundcheck every day," Owen recalls (quote via Sounds Like Nashville). "To have Ronnie’s voice on a song with me is a dream come true."

Owen means that quite literally: He admitted to Larry King in 2014 that Dunn would be his dream duet partner, citing the fellow country star as one of his heroes.

"I have always been such a fan," Owen adds, "and when I first heard "American Country Love Song," it reminded me of the Brooks & Dunn song "Only in America."”

The "Real Life" singer says he was "like a kid on Christmas morning" after Dunn agreed to add his vocals to "American Country Love Song."

"And man, did he nail it!" Owen gushes. "I still can’t believe it. I can’t wait to hear what people think about it.”

American Love dropped on July 29 and is available for purchase now via iTunes and Amazon.
