Jake Owen Breaks Collarbone in Snowboarding Accident

Jake Owen may think twice before snowboarding again on Friday the 13th. While partaking in said winter pastime yesterday in Colorado, the singer took a nasty spill. He got pretty banged up, but that didn’t stop him from hopping on Twitter to share the details.

“Just broke my collar bone,” he tweeted. “Guess I charged this mountain a little too hard.”

Included with the post was a picture of the country star with his arm in a sling. This isn’t Jake’s first time busting his clavicle, and in another tweet, he shared a photo taken during his childhood, just after he’d sustained the same injury in another sporting mishap.

“Thats me and my bro after I fell off my 4 wheeler,” he wrote, including a photo of him and his brother wearing matching red and black striped shirts. “Thanks mom for dressing us alike.”

Prior to yesterday’s tumble, Jake had been enjoying a string of rather good luck. He recently topped the charts with ‘Barefoot Blue Jean Night,’ his first No. 1 hit, and he’s slated to join Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw on this year’s Brothers of the Sun Tour.

Luckily, the injury won’t keep him sidelined for long. Responding to a fan’s tweet about whether he would still be able to play Joe’s Bar in Chicago later this month, Jake responded in the affirmative.

“If I have to sit on a stool I’ll be there,” he wrote. “I can’t let y’all down.”
