Jake Owen was obviously ecstatic about the success of his latest monster single, 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night,' the summer smash that has sold a million copies already and become his biggest hit to date. And he's just as excited for his friend, Eric Paslay, who co-wrote the song and is now enjoying the benefits of having a No. 1 hit on the charts and under his belt, as well.

"Eric and I are buddies," Jake tells the Boot. "We don't write together, but we're friends and I'm really happy for him that this song has done so well. I pull for everyone. That's what I love about country music the most, is that people get on Twitter and support each other. I do it all the time ... I'm like, 'Go get my buddy Chris Young's album, go get Eric Church's album, it came out today, it's awesome. Go get Luke Bryan's album.' In so many other formats and genres, artists talk s--- to one another and they put other artists down, but I feel like what's good for the goose is good for the gander. By being positive, no one could ever fault you for that. If I lose my record deal tomorrow, I want people to be like, 'You know what, I talked to that Jake Owen before and he's a nice guy. He seems like a positive dude that wants to breed positivity into a world of negativity.' It's all about being happy."

Jake has been spreading the love on tour with Keith Urban for the past few months, and he'll play a special show November 1, "Rockin' and Raising the Green," back in Nashville at the Wildhorse Saloon benefiting the Evergreen organization. The group serves people across seven states with disabilities, and the fundraiser will be Evergreen's debut in Nashville to showcase its services.

Jake's run of good luck seems to be rubbing off on his buddy Eric Paslay, as well. Having a No. 1 song on the charts should be a good warmup for Eric, since he has a brand-new single of his own, 'Never Really Wanted,' climbing up the charts, and his own debut album coming out soon on EMI Records. In demand as a writer these days, Eric also has a song called 'Friday Night' on Lady Antebellum's new album, a tune titled 'Even If It Breaks Your Heart,' on the new Eli Young Band CD that he co-penned with Will Hoge, and even a Donny and Marie Osmond single, 'The Good Life,' that the legendary sibling duo perform during their Vegas show.
