Hunter Hayes to Perform Charity Concert

Hunter Hayes is set for to hold a benefit concert to support his charity, MusiCares, at the upcoming FTI Consulting Great Charity Challenge.

The event, held Feb. 1 in Wellington, Fla., features a horse jumping competition in which an Olympic-caliber rider creates a team with two amateurs in support of a Palm Beach County charity. The competition is expected to raise $2 million for 34 charities. The winning team's charity will receive $150,000, followed by a sliding scale of awards down to a minimum of $15,000, which is guaranteed to each participating charity. A 35th team has been added this year to ride on behalf of MusiCares.

The event also includes food, shopping, a petting zoo, magicians, street performers, face painters, carousel rides and a children’s fair. Tickets can be purchased online for $35.

This March, Hayes will be setting out on his We're Not Invisible Tour with ‘The Voice‘ winner Danielle Bradbery and newcomers Dan + Shay. He debuted his new single, 'Invisible,' at the 2014 Grammy Awards. The single is a very personal release for Hayes, who admits being bullied when he was younger.

“To me it’s also just about being misunderstood,” the 22-year-old singer said in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Just me being in high school, just the smallest scale I know compared to a lot of stories that I’ve heard, a lot of people that I’ve met … yes, I was a total geek, I was a total nerd, and you know, I still am, and I’m proud of that.”
