Abby Anderson has been hard at work on her upcoming album release, and the rising star is ready to share an acoustic version of her debut single, "Make Him Wait." Readers can press play above to hear the soulful, stripped-down new song.

The emotion pours out of Anderson as she sings about not dropping everything for a man or rushing a relationship. Instead, Anderson advises taking things slow: "Make him wait by the phone / At the door to meet your dad / Before that first kiss, he's got to hold your hand," she sings, her vocal accompanied by a piano line and embellishments from acoustic guitar.

She continues to pile on the powerful message to women and young girls alike, singing, "You can't get it back / When you give yourself away / Yeah, a boy's going to run, but a real man's going to stay / Girl, make him wait."

Anderson used Twitter to share the single with fans, saying, "Thank you guys for loving this song," along with a red heart emoji.

Anderson, a Texas native, has performed with everyone from her Black River Entertainment labelmate Kelsea Ballerini to Peter Frampton and Lee Greenwood.
