Glen Campbell’s ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ 40th Anniversary Edition to Feature Unreleased Song [LISTEN]
Glen Campbell has sold 45 million records throughout his enviable career in music, and he's about to add to that number with a 40th anniversary reissue of his 1975 Rhinestone Cowboy album, which features a never-before-released bonus track.
The expanded edition of Rhinestone Cowboy will include five bonus tracks, most of which are making their digital and CD debut. Among them is "Quits," a three-minute ballad about the end of a relationship, which you can listen to below. It will be the first time that the song is being released in any format.
The four other bonus tracks are also rare songs: "Record Collector's Dream," the B-side to the chart-topping single "Country Boy (You Got Your Feet in L.A.)," which has never been available digitally or on CD in North America; "Coming Home," which was released only in Japan as a single in 1975; and remixes of "Rhinestone Cowboy" and "Country Boy."
Rhinestone Cowboy has been certified gold and earned two Grammy nominations; its title single received an ACM Award for Single of the Year. The record was released in July of 1975 and hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart in August; it also landed in the Top 20 (No. 17) of the Billboard 200.
The 40th anniversary edition of Rhinestone Cowboy, as well as a remastered vinyl version of the original 10-track album, will be released on March 31. It is available for pre-order on Amazon.
