Old Crow Medicine Show's Gill Landry is set to release his third solo album on March 3.

The self-titled project was self-produced by Landry and recorded in an apartment in south Nashville.

"This album, though holding to a few similar influences as Old Crow, is very much a departure as it is more of a personal journey, musically and lyrically," Landry tells Rolling Stone Country. "The characters in the songs — some living, some dead — are all pulled from my life. Some are very specific, and others relate to the wide range of both good and bad hearts I've had the pleasure of meeting over the years. I tried to write from a perspective in which there was no blame. These songs are searchers looking for some semblance of truth in a shifting and messy landscape."

The release includes a duet with British folk singer Laura Marling on 'Take This Body' and features fellow Nashville transplant Robert Ellis on the track 'Fennario.' Hear the album's lead single 'Just Like You' here.

“These songs are my attempt at transcending the more classic type of broken-hearted love song I’d been writing for years where there was an obvious victim," Landry says. "I tried to not come at it from the point of how things could have/should have been or should be, but searching for a sweet, understanding surrender to what is or was, and moving forward with compassion and kindness without harsh judgment to the reasons for this crime or that misstep.”

Landry's Old Crow bandmates will be taking a break from the road while he heads out in February with Justin Townes Earl. A list of dates can be found at GillLandryMusic.com.

'Gill Landry' is available for pre-order via Amazon and iTunes and through ATO Records' online store in digital, CD and vinyl formats.
