George Strait hasn't slowed his touring schedule down since his career took off in the early '80s. So what does this concert troubadour say is his favorite part of a live show?

"My favorite time is walking on the stage ... and then walking off," he says with a laugh, in an interview with the Academy of Country Music. "Because you're so pumped; you've given it your best shot. You've got it all inside you and then hopefully you got it out. You're almost just as pumped walking off stage as you are walking on. I know that sounds weird, but the people are clapping and going crazy, so it's a good feeling."

George also talked to the ACM about being starstruck by Merle Haggard. Watch video of their chat on the CountryMusicIsLove blog.
