George Strait, Blake Shelton + More Added to George Jones Tribute Concert

The upcoming George Jones Tribute Concert is set to feature a number of country music’s biggest hitters.

George Strait, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Reba McEntire and Alabama were recently added to the list of artists announced to perform at the tribute. They will be joining previously announced artists Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, Josh Turner, the Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry, Sam Moore and others.

“I am thrilled and honored that so many of George’s friends are coming to what would have been his last concert, but is not a fitting tribute,” says Nancy Jones. "George loved these artists and before passing had actually wrote letters to almost all of them.”

The concert, set for Nov. 22 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, was originally meant to be the final show of Jones’ farewell tour. After the iconic artist’s death in April, Nancy announced that the show would continue as a tribute to her husband.

“Everyone has been asking if we will still do the show,” she said in a press release in May. “I have asked Garth [Brooks], Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, the Oak Ridge Boys, Montgomery Gentry, Sam Moore, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson and others and they all said, ‘Yes, I am still going to do it,’ so with all the artists still planning on coming, we are going to honor George one final time.”

Previously announced artists are still being confirmed. The concert is already sold out. More information is available at the Bridgestone Arena website.
