Fans of George Hamilton IV are invited to pay their respects to the late Grand Ole Opry star at services in Nashville this week.

A public visitation will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday (Sept. 23) at the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, Tenn. On Wednesday (Sept. 24), a memorial service will take place at the Ryman Auditorium beginning at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, Hamilton's family requests that donations be made to the Opry Trust Fund, the Oak Valley Baptist Church in Franklin, Tenn., or the Fries Memorial Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Hamilton passed away last week (Sept. 17) at the age of 77, after suffering a heart attack on Sept. 13. Known as the International Ambassador of Country Music, he began his career in 1956, made the switch to country music in 1959 and became an Opry member in 1960. His final album, 'In the Heart of Texas,' came out in 2011.
