Gary Allan has announced his next single: The country star shared via social media that "Mess Me Up" will be his next release -- his first in about a year.

Readers can press play above to watch Allan perform "Mess Me Up" live in concert. He's been performing the song at his shows for quite some time, and decided to officially release the song as a single due to fans' input. In a Facebook video, Allan reveals that "Mess Me Up" will be available for download on May 19 and at country radio on May 30.

“I’ve never tried to pick singles,” Allan told The Boot in 2016. “I find that, when I pick a song [the label doesn’t] like, the way they sell it changes, so I always try to love everything on the record.”

Allan last released a single, "Do You Wish it Was Me," in May of 2016. At the time, he said that the song would be on his next album, a self-produced project that still has yet to be announced. On Facebook, Allan's team has been responding to inquiries about the project: "We are super excited for the album and promise to post details on the release as soon as we have them!" one response reads.

Allan has previously released four No. 1 singles: “Nothing on But the Radio,” “Man to Man,” “Tough Little Boys” and “Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain).”
