Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary last week (Friday, December 10) and rather than taking off somewhere special as husband and wife, the couple stayed true to the tradition of making their anniversary a family occasion, as teenage daughters Taylor, August, and Allie joined the celebration.

"When we got married five years ago, we married the girls," stepmom Trisha tells People of Garth's daughters from his first marriage. "So the five of us always celebrate together."

On the big night, Garth, Trisha and the girls saw the the new Disney movie, 'Tangled,' at a theater near their home in Oklahoma. "We all talked about it and said, 'Let's go see a movie,'" Trisha explains. "We all actually really want[ed] to see it, and none of our children are young-young."

The Brooks' are now gearing up for their next big celebration: Christmas. Trisha says the holiday will consist of "family, home, just being together, and cooking," which is something they hope to pass down to the girls as they get older.

"I hope that my husband and I, through our example and through the things that we do outside of what we do just for us, are teaching our children by example to give back," she says. "There are so many things we can do for others."

Garth and Trisha are, in fact, doing just by performing nine sold-out concerts this week at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, to benefit flood-relief efforts in Middle Tennessee.
