Garth Brooks' No. 1 platinum-selling album Man Against Machine has spawned two singles -- "People Loving People" and "Mom" -- since its release last November, but the country icon isn't sure when a third single will hit the airwaves -- and the decision might be out of his hands.

Brooks signed a distribution deal for Man Against Machine with Sony Music, but now that Gary Overton, the label's CEO and chairman, has resigned, Brooks is unsure what the label's future plans for his music are. It's been almost six months since Brooks has released a new tune.

"My thing is, allow them the freedom to make that transition and get a plan," Brooks tells Rolling Stone Country, "and nobody's heard anything about that yet."

Still, the 53-year-old acknowledges that he wasn't too surprised by the label's shake-up.

“There’s always change, always in this industry,” Brooks tells Taste of Country. “Sometimes you’re a person in the boat, and you’re not steering the boat. And it’s scary. So as an artist, when your label head is gone, you wonder who’s gonna fill in and what’s gonna change."

But new single or not, the singer has plenty to keep him busy. Brooks' World Tour, which also features his wife Trisha Yearwood, is in full swing, and he's been playing multiple shows in each city to keep up with fan demand.

“For me, I don’t care about the dollar bill bottom line, I care about the memories of, did I have fun there? Did we get to do stuff as a crew there, as a band there?” Brooks says of selecting cities for the tour. “You betcha, we’re going back to all the fun places.”

Brooks has future shows set in Nebraska, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama and Texas so far. A complete list of his upcoming tour dates is available here.
