Garth Brooks fans are about to be really disappointed. The 53-year-old has revealed that he recently lost six months' worth of songs he was working on for an upcoming new album -- all thanks to a broken cell phone.

"We're working on new music. Here's where the old guy gets into technology, which is bad," Brooks reveals to JSOnline.com. "All the new stuff, which I've been working on for six months, was on a phone that's been fried, and I can't get the phone to come back up. I know I should have backed it up. It's like losing your briefcase back in the '90s."

Brooks last released a new album, Man Against Machine, in November of 2014. Brooks' wife and touring partner, Trisha Yearwood, says that there are a couple of other projects in the works as well, although they won't be released any time soon either.

"We started a Christmas album the early part of the summer," Yearwood shares. "It's not done, so it probably won't be out before next Christmas. And then I'm getting ready to start a new record, probably after the first of the year."

Brooks and Yearwood recently became the first husband-and-wife duo to receive stars on Nashville's Music City Walk of Fame.

“When I think Nashville, and what I love about this place — it’s the home of the dreamers,” Brooks said at their induction ceremony. “It’s the home of the people who made the leap. The ones that made the drive here, lived in their cars. That’s why I love this town ..."

Brooks, who is nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the 2015 CMA Awards, is continuing his World Tour this fall with shows in Cleveland, OhioPhoenix, Ariz.San Diego, Calif., and Salt Lake City, Utah. Find a list of all of his upcoming shows here.
