Last year, the fans gave Kenny Chesney his ACM Award for Entertainer of the Year, as the Academy of Country Music introduced fan-voting for the first time in the show's history, testing it out in the biggest category of the night. This year, it will be a new ACM honor that will be determined by you, the fans.

The ACM announced Wednesday that three pre-show categories will be decided by fans: Top New Female Vocalist, Top New Male Vocalist and Top New Vocal Duo or Group. Fans can vote on GAC's website, starting on February 13 and closing March 5. The winner in each of the three categories will be announced March 9 and will go on to compete in a brand-new ACM category, Top New Artist.

The 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas, April 5 at 8 PM ET on CBS. Nominees will be announced February 11 in Nashville. Kellie Pickler, Jessica Simpson, LeAnn Rimes and Julianne Hough will read the nominations live on CBS' 'Early Show.'
