Faith Hill, ‘Sunday Night Football’ Part Ways

Faith Hill broke some disappointing news on her Facebook and Twitter pages Monday (April 15).

"Amazing 2 have been part of SNF - an honor," she wrote, referring to her six years of singing the theme song to open NBC's "Sunday Night Football" broadcast. "I've just let everyone there know it's time 2 let someone else rock the open. Difficult decision. Kinda emotional. Love all u guys at SNF - I'll b watching!!!"

Faith's "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," set to the tune of Joan Jett's classic "I Hate Myself for Loving You," opened every Sunday night NFL game, with different videos cut for each set of opposing teams. (Watch one from last season below.)

The mom of three daughters and wife to fellow country superstar Tim McGraw will undoubtedly keep her promise to watch whomever fills her high heels on "SNF." The McGraws are big Tennessee Titans fans, and love both NFL and college football.

"I'm a football fan! I have to be to be able to have a conversation with my husband during football season," Faith joked a few years ago. "I've learned a lot about football ... I understand when to ask a question. Something's happened on the field, and if I don't quite understand what's going on, you never ask a question during a replay!"

Faith's history with the NFL dates back to 1999, the first year that the Tennessee Titans' stadium opened in Nashville. She sang the national anthem for the very first game at what is now called LP Field. She went on to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in 2000, which her beloved Titans lost to the St. Louis Rams.
