Eric Church has earned yet another No. 1 hit. The singer's latest single, 'Talladega,' has soared to the top of the charts, becoming the second No. 1 song from Church's Grammy-nominated album 'The Outsiders.'

“NASCAR was as hot as any sport back in the ’90s, and it was a thing where a group of your buddies go take stuff, tents, camp out, stay a few days, walk back and forth to the track,” Church explains of the inspiration for the song. “We actually lost the damn car, you know; you’re so far away. I can’t tell you who won the race, but I could tell you all the experiences we had in a two- or three-day period.”

'Give Me Back My Hometown,' Church's second single from 'The Outsiders,' also became a No. 1 hit. The singer-songwriter knew the album, which has already been certified platinum, was a risk, but it was one he felt certain would pay off in the end.

“It’s a bit of a statement,” he says of the record. “I wanted to send a message with this album that it’s gonna be different, it’s gonna be another level.”

Church is nominated for four Grammy Awards this year, including one for Best Country Album. He is also slated to perform for the ceremony broadcast, which will air live on Feb. 8 at 8 PM ET on CBS.

Church recently announced a new leg of his record-breaking Outsiders World Tour, which will include Brothers Osborne, the Drive-By Truckers, JD McPherson, the Cadillac Three and the Lone Bellow taking turns as his opening act.
