The Eli Young Band has been ascending the country charts with such swiftness it's been hard to keep track. Now the Denton, Texas four-piece is about to enjoy another accolade. Their hit single 'Crazy Girl,' which has already achieved platinum-selling status, has also reached the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard Country Singles chart and the USA Today/Country Aircheck list. It's the guys' first time ever to occupy the chart's penthouse.

The band was also surprised this past weekend by their Cold Cans and Country tourmate Dierks Bentley, who brought a specially decorated cake on stage to commemorate their latest achievement.

The song's co-writer, Lee Brice, almost recorded 'Crazy Girl' himself before his EYB buddies made him think otherwise."We all fell in love with the song and felt like we wanted to record it," the group's Mike Eli tells The Boot of their chart-topping hit. "So, they went down to this ranch to write with Lee and convinced him."

The Eli Young Band continues on the Cold Cans and Country trek with Dierks this Friday with a show in San Jose, Calif. Keep track of their tour schedule here.
