Easton Corbin believes in America's farmers, so much so that he recently helped award a check for a cool $1 million to the Future Farmers of America.

The 'Baby Be My Love Song' singer joined Ram Trucks President and CEO Reid Bigland in Louisville, Ky., earlier this month to present the check during the first session of the 86th National Future Farmers of America Convention and Expo. The event was a fitting bookend to a year Corbin spent working closely with the national FFA organization, Ram Trucks and their Next Crop Initiative’s 'Year of the Farmer,' which included Corbin devoting much of his time to visiting FFA chapters in rural America -- a cause that is personally important to him.

“I remember when I was in sixth grade, and [my grandfather] asked me if I wanted to show a cow, and I was like, ‘Well, yeah!’” the Florida native recalls (quote via GAC). “So, my grandpa was a big influence on me. He’s always been such a hardworking guy. I’ve always looked up to him.”

Ram Trucks kicked off the 'Year of the Farmer' in February with their Super Bowl commercial, 'Farmer.' For every one million views the video received, Ram pledged to donate $100,000, up to one million dollars. The video, which now has over 17 million views, reached 10 million views in just a few days.

Corbin has also been busy putting the finishing touches on a new album, which he says will sound more traditional country than bro-country.

“[Traditional country]‘s part of who I am and what I love,” he explains. “You know, I grew up loving Merle Haggard and George Jones and Keith Whitley and folks like that. It’s just what I love. And ever since I’ve been small, it’s just really spoken to me.”
