The Drive-By Truckers have announced that they will be releasing their 11th studio album this fall. American Band is set for release on Sept. 30, through ATO Records.

Fans still have a few months to wait until American Band's release, but in the meantime, they can hear the project's lead single, "Surrender Under Protest;" the Truckers shared the track with NPR on June 21. Per a press release, the album addresses the tough political and cultural issues currently facing the United States; although a complete track listing has not yet been revealed, the release shares that other songs on the project include "Guns of Umpque" and "Ramon Casiano."

“[T]hese songs are mostly set front and center in the current political arena, with [the album containing] songs dealing with our racial and cultural divisions, gun violence, mass shootings and political a--holery,” the Drive-By Truckers' Patterson Hood says in the press release. "American Band is a rock-and-roll call to arms as well as a musical reset button for our band and the country we live in.”

The Truckers are celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band in 2016 and will kick off their Darken the Flags tour on July 13 in New York City. For a full list of dates and more information on the tour, check out the group's official websiteAmerican Band is also available for pre-order there.
