Dolly Parton will show off her acting chops in a new Lifetime Original Movie, 'A Country Christmas Story,' which will premiere on Nov. 9.

The film has the country music superstar playing herself, as she hosts a singing competition at her theme park, Dollywood. One of the contestants is a bi-racial Appalachian mountain girl who wants to pursue her dream of becoming a country music star, played by 'Crossing the River' actress Desiree Ross.

'A Country Christmas Story' also stars singer and actor Brian McKnight, 'Rules of Engagement' star Megyn Price and Mary Kay Place from 'Big Love.'

Parton is no stranger to acting. Her many credits include her epic role in '9 to 5,' which earned her a Golden Globe nomination, as well as parts in 'Steel Magnolias,' 'Straight Talk,' last year's 'Joyful Noise' and numerous TV roles.

The 67-year-old will have a busy start to the new year. She will kick off her Blue Smoke world tour on Feb. 7 with six shows in Australia, as well as stops in the UK and Sweden. See all of her upcoming concerts here.

'A Country Christmas Story' will air on Lifetime on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 8PM ET.
