Royal wedding? What royal wedding? That's what Dierks Bentley was thinking after learning of the nuptials between Prince William and his new bride Kate Middleton last week.

"Queen?" he asked the Augusta Chronicle about the ceremony viewed by an estimated three billion people worldwide. "The only queen my band members and I know about is Queen Latifah ... I know very little about pop culture."

Not only did he not take time to watch the ceremony, he barely took a break for his own wedding. "We just ran off and got married, and I got back to playing my music," says the Arizona native, who eloped to Mexico with his high school sweetheart Cassidy Black in 2005. "It's all about the live shows for me. We never did take a honeymoon trip. The honeymoon was part of the wedding."

The father of two will wrap up his Jägermeister Country tour May 13 in Norfolk, Va., after which he looks forward to spending time with his family and finishing his new album. Although, even when he is at home, Dierks' thoughts are always on his next performance.

"Yes, every mile is still a memory, and I'm still making some of my best memories," he acknowledges. "I'm having more fun touring than I've ever had. And this current tour brings up a lot of good energy [and] getting to see a lot of fun people."

The tour, which has already spawned a prank war with his opening act Miss Willie Brown, will stop in Detroit, Mich. tonight (May 6). See the rest of his dates here.
