With Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Jennifer Nettles, Trace Adkins and John Rich all appearing on TV talent competitions as judges and mentors, is Dierks Bentley about to join that list? Not a chance!

"The first thing I got asked to do was the dancing thing, 'Dancing With the Stars' back in 2005 or something," he notes (quote via the Country Vibe). "I'm a terrible dancer so even the best person couldn't teach me to dance. But really, I just love writing songs, I love being in a band and being on the road. I don't know where the time would come from. You'd have to create more time."

The country superstar -- and married father of two daughters -- says he wonders how other artists who have become TV celebrities make it all work. "I just don't know where you'd just take off this much time to go do something and kind of walk away from your job. I don't know how you do that and I just don't have any desire to do it. I know what makes me happy -- it's writing songs making records, being with the guys on the bus and doing all of that and being with my girls. That's enough -- my plate's full and I like it."

Dierks says his favorite place to be is still with his family. "I love being at home," he tells The Boot. "I love getting on the couch, getting a beer, playing with the girls, rough-housing. That being said, I often do go out because there's so much great music and people playing around town. Once I motivate to get out, I'm having a great time, often too good a time, and I'm paying for it the next day. I see so many people on the road and we have so much fun out there, that when I come home, I just love, love, love being on the couch and hanging with the girls."

Dierks has upcoming shows in North Carolina, New Jersey and Illinois. Keep track of his tour schedule here.
